Battery Park Synagogue is an unaffiliated, egalitarian congregation that has been serving the downtown Jewish community for over 25 years. We welcome individuals and families of all backgrounds and traditions, and are committed to serving the religious, spiritual and educational needs of the downtown Jewish community. Our members include Reform, Conservative, traditional and non-traditional Jews who worship together in a relaxed, family-centered environment.

Our Mission
The mission of Battery Park Synagogue is simple: to serve the spiritual, religious, and cultural needs of the downtown Jewish community. All of our services, classes, and events are created based on direct input from our members and friends.

Our Congregation
Our membership is our greatest asset and our most valuable resource. Our congregation is made up of individuals and families from diverse backgrounds who come together and connect to develop and sustain a vibrant Jewish community in lower Manhattan. Our community is strong, determined and resourceful and hails from all corners of the city, particularly Battery Park City, TriBeCa, and the Financial District.

Our Services
We offer a full calendar of religious services and celebrations, including Shabbat, festival, and holiday observances throughout the year. Our services are modern, musical, and spiritual, and include a mixture of Hebrew and English. Participation is strongly encouraged at all levels, and particular attention is paid to including women and children in Jewish ritual.

Our School
At Battery Park Synagogue we believe that you’re never too old too old (or too young) to learn! Our Hebrew school provides classes for toddlers through teens, including bar- and bat-mitzvah instruction, and our Adult Education programs offer classes for older, wiser students.

Of course. At this late date, just show up. We can always settle up later. We welcome all and have a sliding scale for tickets depending on need, number of services, etc. but never turn anyone away.

We would be pleased to have you join us for services on Thursday. IF you are only planning to attend on Thursday, a donation to the synagogue would be appropriate.

All the best in the New Year.
